The Royal Zoo of Artis - Butterfly park & Aquarium

Butterfly Park in a protected enclosure:

The most eye catching were the owl butterfly, Blue Morpho butterfly and the Grecian Shoemaker butterfly. All three of them are found mostly in South and Central America.

Owl butterfly known for their huge eye-spots, which resemble owls' eyes are generally found in the rain-forests.

The Grecian Shoemaker butterfly is black with six orange dots on its dorsal side.

Another South American beauty was the Blue Morpho butterfly. This butterfly is unique in its coloring, with dual faces of color pattern in its ventral (underside) and dorsal (lower side) sides, the ventral side is colored brown and decorated with a line of eye-spots and its dorsal side has metallic blue.

The marine life in the Artis:

The Aquarium has marine life native to both salt water and fresh water, some of them include the Stingray, Lion fish, Shark, mangrovekwal, puffer, Juvenile Emperor Angel Fish, clown trigger fish, Threadfin Butterflyfish, copperband butterfly fish and lobster.
