Rajasthan is mostly famous for vegetarian cuisine with a wide variety of dishes.  Most popular ones being the Plain Ghevar, malai Ghevar and Jalebi in desserts; Kadhi, Ker-saangri and Gatte ki Sabzi in Curries; Bikaneri Bhujia, Mirchi Vada, Pyaaj Kachori & Mawa Kachori in Snacks and Dal Bhati Churma in Main course. While you're in Rajasthan do not miss out to try some of these. We had a great experience trying out the local flavors in some of the best restaurants highlighted below: Jodhpur: While in Jodhpur one cannot miss the rooftop candlelit dinner with amazing view of Mehrangarh fort lit in the backdrop and delicious food on your plate, it's an experience of a lifetime. One such is the Curry’s rooftop restaurant where we tried ker sangri. The city of Jaipur welcomes you with its pink colored structures painted across the city. Hawa Mahal, iconic monument of Rajasthan Jaipur has a lot to offer for the tourists, our Jaipur tour started with Albert Hall Museum. Albert Hall Museum is built in the late 19th century. It will easily take up at least an hour for a tour inside the museum, and its worth it. Do not miss its stunning looks after dark, when the whole structure is lit up. During night the temple complex looks more beautiful after it is lit up, with the Moti Dungari hill fort in the backdrop the view looks more stunning. After doing some shopping near the temple we rested for the day. Bikaner is famous for its palaces and forts, built of red sandstone, and is the fourth largest city of Rajasthan state. We had made a hard choice to select Bikaner over Pushkar/Ajmer in our itinerary, but only realised it was more than worth it after we explored the city. The city is dominated by auto rickshaws for public transportation, may be due to its narrow streets. There are many attractions in Bikaner and choices of excursions, but we limited our itinerary to a few popular ones. Rampuria group of Havelis We started exploring the city of Bikaner through the Rampuria group of Havelis , these havelis are created by Baluji Chalva built with dulmera red sandstone with highly ornate windows. These havelis are few of the last remaining and finest examples of Bikaner style of architecture, which is a perfect fusion of Rajasthani and British architectural styles.
